Accurate and correct diagnosis

First of all, it is important to perform a proper diagnosis and find the cause.

The shortcut to resolving pain is accurate diagnosis

In order to tell patients what kind of treatment they need, we cannot proceed with treatment just by listening to their story. Of course, it is very important to hear what the condition is, but the dentist must perform an examination and diagnosis based on that story and decide on the final treatment plan.

Dental treatment cannot be started without knowing the cause. Treatment cannot be started immediately with the assumption that "this must be the cause."

Although there is a tendency for patients to seek dental treatment immediately, it is very important to carefully discuss treatment plans and methods together with the patient before proceeding with dental treatment.

To alleviate pain as quickly as possible, what is needed is not dental treatment but an examination and diagnosis inside and outside the mouth. Only by analyzing the type and characteristics of the pain and identifying the cause can a path to treatment be found.

There is more than one cause of pain

There are many different causes of oral problems, and in most cases there is more than one cause. Sometimes the problem is with the teeth themselves (odontogenic pain), but it is often the case that the problem is something other than the teeth (non-odontogenic pain). Different diseases require different treatment methods.

In order to decide on a treatment method, an examination and diagnosis are necessary. In the examination and diagnosis, we consider what the problem is from every perspective, including X-rays, oral and external examinations, and of course, interviews about pain and symptoms.

Avoid unnecessary treatment

One of the reasons why dental examinations are important is to avoid unnecessary dental treatment.

"If the pain continues, let's remove the nerve."

"If it still hurts, let's pull the tooth."

I'm sick of dental treatment like that.

If such treatment methods are carried out incorrectly, the teeth will be worn down and eventually lost.

Is the treatment really necessary to protect your teeth? Are you planning to lose healthy teeth?

The shortcut to resolving pain is to conduct a proper examination and diagnosis, then discuss the treatment plan and method with the patient and decide on a course of treatment. If this step is skipped, no matter how excellent the treatment, it will only be a stopgap treatment.
